EPW - Unsigned Swiss, gold, diamond, ruby and enamel scarab form watch, 21mm width at widest point of body x 49mm from wing tip to tip of front pincers, 18K gold (tested) scarab form case with exquisite engraving detail, blue guilloche enameled and black enameled top set with 59 rose cut diamonds, 2 cabochon rubies for eyes, ornately detailed underside engraving, gold and black enamel front swivel set with 3 rose cut diamonds, underside of one wing with engraved initials and 1908 date, depressing button at tail spreads the wings to reveal concealed fancy white enamel dial with blue and red hour numerals, gold foil minute markers, SW-pin-set, cylinder escapement, 10J, gilt mvt, no visible s#. Gross weight of assembled watch 18.8 dwt (29.2 g). A beautiful example of this iconic watch style, this is only the second example of a gold and enamel scarab form watch that our firm has had the pleasure to handle.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, darkened gilt tone, few scratches; dial flawless in visible portion; excellent hands; case shows hardly any wear, no dents or dings, excellent engraving detail, enameling substantially intact with a chip of loss to right wing near its midpoint and a chip of loss to left wing near its base, gemstones all present; crown shows hardly any wear; good glass crystals.
